Initial situation:

The region of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the most popular vacation regions in Germany. With its approximately 27,300 inhabitants, the market combines Bavarian tradition with international flair. In order to prepare the elementary and middle schools in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for modern teaching, a public tender was issued. The benefits of the German government’s DigitalPakt, made available in 2019, were used for this purpose. The DigitalPakt supports educational institutions with financial resources to equip classrooms and schools with digital technology and to be able to teach children and young people important and digital skills.

Solution:

CosH Consulting GmbH from Nuremberg was awarded the contract for several lots. After extensive consultation, the market of Garmisch-Partenkirchen commissioned CosH with the procurement, delivery & installation of various terminal devices at the individual schools.

To enable digital and, above all, paperless learning, different PC systems with monitors and notebooks in various designs were rolled out for the elementary and middle schools. This made it possible to cover several areas of application at the same time by varying the terminals. In addition to the laptops, matching notebook bags were also supplied to ensure safe transportation between the classroom and home.

A FUJITSU PRIMERGY RX1330 M4 server was installed as a local storage solution to provide secure and fast access to data, documents and homework for students and teachers. The single-socket rack server is extremely energy efficient and ideal for file, web hosting, communications, collaboration and virtualization workloads.

With the new equipment, the market of Garmisch-Partenkirchen has modern and innovative technology for primary and secondary schools. The new devices provide students and teaching staff with new and digital learning concepts for obtaining information, researching or working on assignments.
