Initial situation:
With a family tradition spanning more than 70 years, Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG Kunststoffwerk-Werkzeugbau is one of the leading manufacturers in the plastics processing industry. As the company continues to grow, Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG faced the challenge of providing full coverage of its offices and production facilities with state-of-the-art Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Solution:
Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG has decided to partner with CosH Consulting GmbH to optimize its Wi-Fi infrastructure. First, the site—including factory buildings, office buildings, and outdoor areas—was mapped out in network blueprints through a professional Wi-Fi survey, ensuring in theory that the access points would be positioned correctly. The project was implemented by CosH Project Management in close collaboration with Pöppelmann’s IT department.
The project had a core duration of 18 months, during which nearly 900 Lancom access points were deployed.
Business Benefits:
The professional lighting design ensures that the access points are selected—both in terms of quantity and placement—to achieve maximum efficiency with the minimum number of units. For occupational safety reasons, all areas—especially in the basement—must be fully illuminated, as Pöppelmann is switching its telephone system to Wi-Fi technology. This measure ensures that an emergency call can be made at any time in the event of an emergency.
